The meat aisle did not vote on this. Merck Animal Health’s SEQUIVITY platform is a USDA-licensed RNA-particle vaccine used in American swine. It is commercial. It is not a rumor. Producers use it against swine influenza and other herd diseases. Custom “prescription” versions target circovirus, rotavirus, and more. That is gene-instruction technology going into animals that become bacon, ham, and chops — with no consumer label that says so.
Call it what the companies call it: disease control. Call it what the shopper never sees: a platform that tells pig cells to make a chosen protein. That is not a 1950s killed-virus shot. It is a software update for livestock. Big packers and big pharma did not need a town hall to roll it out. They needed a license, a barn, and a withdrawal clock. The “meat cartel” piece is the structure, not a cartoon. A handful of processors set what most Americans eat. When those systems adopt a new shot, the grocery store inherits it. You inherit the silence.
