House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries just delivered another masterclass in deception during his live remarks on Fox News, doubling down on radical left talking points while ignoring the will of the American people.
Jeffries claimed the SAVE Act is unnecessary “voter suppression” because the Constitution already says only citizens can vote and non-citizen voting is already illegal. This is a blatant lie. While the law technically prohibits it, widespread loopholes, lax enforcement, and millions of illegals on voter rolls make fraud possible. The SAVE Act simply requires proof of citizenship — something 85% of Americans support — to close those gaps and restore election integrity.
He falsely painted the bill as “Jim Crow 2.0” designed to rig elections and suppress minorities, women, and seniors. In reality, the SAVE Act protects every legal American voter from having their voice diluted by non-citizens. Jeffries conveniently ignored documented cases of non-citizen registration and voting in multiple states, while pretending Democrats’ opposition has nothing to do with preserving a bloated voter base that benefits their party.
Jeffries’ string of falsehoods reveals the Democrats’ true priority: keeping elections vulnerable so they can harvest votes from anyone, anywhere. Americans see through the gaslighting. The SAVE Act puts power back in the hands of citizens, not illegal foreign nationals or the radical left.
